How Much Aloe Vera to Take?

Aloe Vera aids the management of many problems and these pages are designed to educate and inform the visitor.  Suggestions made are not to be interpreted as a medical consultation.

So how do you take Aloe Vera and how much?

When first taking Aloe Vera there are two ways you can proceed:

    1.  Detox the system by taking a high amount, i.e. 200 - 250 mls in 50 mls doses throughout the day for one to two weeks. Then reduce the intake to suit your needs.

With a fast detox you might find you visit the toilet more frequently or it can even have the opposite effect. Very occasionally there is some gut pain or gas. If so, then reduce your intake to the slower method following.

    2.  Allow Aloe Vera to enter your system slowly by taking small amounts in multiple doses throughout the day and gradually increase your daily intake.

Start off with 30 mls per day in six doses of 5 mls for three days.

Then up the dosage to 60 mls per day in six doses of 10 mls for three days.

Finish the detox with 100 mls per day in four doses of 25 mls for three days.

Then go on to a regular daily dosage to suit your needs of 50 - 100 mls per day in doses of 25 - 50 mls morning and night. If you have the patience, it is even better to take your daily dosage in 10 mls sips throughout the day and even to 'chew it' by swilling it around your mouth each time you take it.

When your condition is normalised you can slowly reduce your intake to a level with which you feel most comfortable. Everybody's condition is different and you will soon get to know the optimum amount for yourself.

Your Morley's Aloe Vera Juice should be kept in the fridge or other cool place once opened and do avoid taking it with hot drinks or hot food as the heat can destroy some of the active constituents.

Note: The irritant laxative, Aloin, has effectively been removed from Morley's Aloe Vera so you cannot overdose on it and it is perfectly safe for children and pregnant women. You could even drink a whole bottle a day if you wanted to.

A particular importance of Aloe Vera is that its immune-active effects have been clearly shown to be of functional benefit in making the immune system more effective. Because of this, the only people who should not take Morley's - or any other - Aloe Vera Juice are recent transplant patients, as the boost to the immune system could cause the transplant to be rejected, which is clearly not the object of the exercise!

The quality of Aloe Vera products in the market place varies enormously. The best are Whole Leaf, Cold Processed with the Aloin removed. These have 100% of the plant's potency, whilst filleted Aloe Vera has only 20%. Many suppliers just use the fillet as they do not have the expertise to remove the Aloin located just under the rind of the leaf. Also, if the fillet is not cut carefully Aloin can enter their product. Care should be taken using products from which the Aloin has not been removed.

Finally, there are three reasons why Aloe Vera won't help you:

    1.  You are not taking a quality product.
    2.  You are not taking it correctly.
    3.  You give up before it has had a chance to work.
